At its heart Urban Wild documents my personal journey into the world of WELLNESS (think mental health, self care, self love, creating your physical space and real conversations with women I admire) and my love of good (VEGAN) food. You'll also find a dash of STYLE thrown in for good measure.

UW is your no bullshit best friend who serves you up heartfelt inspiration when you need it, gives you a good talking to even when you don’t want to hear it and slips you that awesome vegan recipe when you really need something nourishing but yum to eat.

For two years I’ve struggled with severe depression and anxiety, which I can’t help but think can be somewhat remedied with a big dollop of wellness. I think wellness is something we all need more of in this day and age. Only issue is, I don’t really understand what wellness is. It’s a bit of a buzzword these days. Conjuring up images of smoothies, yoga classes and beautiful girls wearing lululemon. But what does it really mean? And how on earth do we get our hands on it?

Armed with the world wide web and piles of literature I’m diving into the world of wellness, and sharing my personal journey of demystifying wellness with you. From what I can gather wellness is not just about physical health. It is the wellbeing of both your mind and body. It is the realisation that everything we do, think, feel and believe has an effect on our wellbeing and therefore our lives. It’s about living wholeheartedly, being happy, healthy and in balance, and actively creating a life you love. And it’s about finding the tools that suit you individually that help you to create that.

So that’s what I’m going to explore here on Urban Wild. Practical ways to incorporate wellness into our lives, as well as lessons I’ve learnt along the way, so that we can all create a well-lived life. Whatever that may look like to you.

I started blogging in 2010. Initially it started off as a baking blog and then swiftly moved towards being an online journal. I dabbled in DIYs, terrible food recipes and (cringe-inducing) fashion posts taken with a timer and a tripod. I’ve come far in the past almost-decade and my online space has never felt more right or more me. Urban Wild is simply an outlet to share my findings and a good dash of my feelings with you, the internet. So grab a cup of coffee, tea, kombucha or that smoothie, and dig right in to your dose of online goodness.
